What is OnlineSTV?
OnlineSTV is a cloud-based online ranked-choice election voting system.
The platform was developed as part of the ongoing research and adoption towards ranked-choice voting elections. We aimed to deliver an online voting system that was capable of managing every aspect of an election, from the candidates up to the ballots casted. The system counts, verifies and generates statistics on the election winner and allows users to vote remotely through any form of medium.
Who are the candidates?
If you're voting in any election, that's probably the first thing you'll ask and check about. We've created a central point for all candidates. This ensures candidates are unique, but allow joint-contributed content on a candidate. We store all election data, allowing you to see an overview of any previous elections, related candidates and their statistics.

Elections are grouped together in a logical way that lets you see an overview of all the information you need. We pull in any related content, media coverage, candidate details and election details. We deliver real-time statistics and analytics to election owners meaning you can keep an eye on how the election performance changes over time.

Want to find out who won an election, how the voting rounds changed over time and when other candidates were eliminated? Don't worry - we've made that simple too. All you need is in one, nicely formatted and simple to understand layout. You can see a breakdown of how votes were transferred (where applicable) and the proportion of votes different candidates received.

OnlineSTV is a cloud platform that delivers and hosts elections all over the world - how do you make yourself, your elections and your candidates stand out? Your profile page displays all the contributions you make to our platform. You can choose exactly what you share, where you share it and how your profile looks across all devices, tablets and PCs.

We've made it easy to create elections with no additional overhead. Once you've got an account, you can freely setup as many elections as you want. As soon as they're seutp, you can specify when voting opens, closes and how you want the results to be calculated.

The OnlineSTV platform was built from the underlying core upwards. We've got a full dedicated API that allows developers to connect and implement different aspects of our voting algorithms and cloud management. We use OAuth authentication for user protected resources. Once you're registered and setup a new application, we'll verify and approve your request.
